Rafting in Pennsylvania

We have run a regular weekend rafting trip to Pine Creek, PA in recent years and have enjoyed heavy snow, blazing sunshine, Ospreys, Bald Eagles, great hiking and rafting, when it is warm the water fights are fun and when it is colder it is important to keep paddling.

Memorial Day Weekend trip

This year we are going to Albany and Saratoga, past trips include Valley Forge and Philadelphia, New York City and Toronto.

Camp Barton

In 1923 Camp Barton was established at Taughannock Falls, a mile or two south of our present location at Frontenac Point on beautiful Cayuga Lake in the heart of New York's Finger Lakes. In the eighty-one years since , thousands of Scouts have been a part of the Barton tradition of fun, Scouting and year-round activity. We moved to Frontenac in 1927, and the fun has continued on the lake and in the nearly 200 acres of woods and fields. Camp Barton is the perfect setting for your troop's next summer camp adventure, and will provide your Scouts with camping experiences which will be remembered for a lifetime.

Camp Sabattis

Located within Hiawatha Seaway Council, Camp Sabattis is a great place to enjoy scouting fun. Troop 2 has sent a number of patrols to enjoy a week long camp and will continue to do so in future.

National Scout Ranch - Philmont, NM

Every year scouts from all over the US and the rest of the world visit Philmont, a truly unique experience for scouts and leaders.

Sea Base

The Florida National High Adventure Sea Base operates nine different adventures out of three different locations: two in the Florida Keys, and one in Marsh Harbour, Bahamas. The adventures include Coral Reef Sailing, Sea Exploring Adventure, Scuba Adventure, Scuba Certification, and Live Aboard Scuba Adventure

Our year round camping and hiking routine continues with two and three day hikes extending the scouts' capabilities and stressing their self reliance.

Laser tag trip

Each year we try and combine fund and education in a visit to one of the major cities nearby. Our past visits have included the Strong Museum in Rochester, Syracuse Zoo and the Planetarium as well as a significant amount of laser shooting. This day trip always attracts a good number of scouts (and some parents who think they are good at the games) and is rounded off with a dinner on the way home.

Klondike

Based at Camp Barton, traditionally during the coldest period, the Klondike is a themed weekend geared to allow scouts to show their skills and understanding of the higher levels of the scouting program. For the past three years Troop 2 has brought home the coveted Klondike duck trophy for the highest scoring troop over the weekend.

Scout overnight

This is a great opportunity for the scouts to mingle with other units and enjoy a whole night of camaraderie and fun.
