Sam Brock’s Eagle project! Children’s Ministries Storeroom at FCC
Calling all scouts (and parents too), if you are looking for rank advancement you will need service hours and Sam’s Eagle Scout project is a great way to say thank you to our sponsoring organization – First Congregational Church – and get the service hours you need. Sam needs your help to complete his Eagle project so please sign up for a shift on each day. We also need at least two adult workers per shift to cover the use of power tools and ensure we always have two deep leadership at all times. We will be working Friday, November 9 from 5:00 – 9:00PM (Pizza supper provided) and then Saturday from 1:00 until 5:00PM. Please sign up by contacting Sam sabrock@twcny.rr.com or call 257-8776.
Thanks in advance from Sam for all your help.

A Once-In-A-Lifetime Chance:
The BSA 100th Anniversary Celebration Logo Contest is designed to inspire every Scout to be involved in a part of history. We need your help to encourage the Scouts in your area to pick up a crayon, a pen, a pencil, or a computer mouse and submit ideas!
This opportunity is especially exciting because the winner will fly to San Francisco and work with world-renowned graphic artist and Eagle Scout Kit Hinrichs to bring the winning logo idea to life! Mr. Hinrichs is known for his patriotic work involving American flag memorabilia, and several of his pieces are on display at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance for one lucky Scout, so please help in spreading the word! All entries are due Nov. 30, 2007.
To recognize the outstanding efforts of our Scouts, in addition to the logo contest patch and participation certificate that every Scout entering the contest will receive, winners in each category will receive a $100 ScoutStuff.org gift card. The overall winner will receive a $250 ScoutStuff.org gift card.

Scout dues – reminder
Scout dues are payable now, we split the payment into two parts, $35 now and then, for scouts who achieve $200 in fundraising (popcorn and wreath sales) that is all. Any scouts who do not achieve the fundraising looked for will be asked for a second payment of $35 in January. Just as an added incentive; any scout who reaches $200 will get 20% of their total in scout dollars to use for events throughout the year. Past events have included rafting, museum visits, scuba diving and rock climbing and these can all be paid for out of their scout account if they have sufficient sales. Please make your check payable to Boy Scout Troop 2.
Thanks to all the parents, the troop committee and the dedicated volunteers who give so much of their time to make the troop such a great part of the boys’ lives.
