Fall Court of Honor

Once again, our scouts, adult leaders, parents and siblings met to celebrate the troops' achievements in Scouting. Refreshments were provided by the scouts and pictures can be seen on our photos pages. Thanks to all concerned, particularly Jery and Robin Stedinger, Mark Tate and Tim Nord for their constant support and encouragement, David Kuckuk, Luke Landherr, Tom Caswell, Dan Ophardt and Jeremy Tagliaferre for all their wonderful work with the program. Special thanks are due to Mari Tiwari and the troop committee, particularly Rick Grossman for all his work with the merit badge program.

After many years as Scoutmaster and then ASM, Ben Brown has now become our unit commissioner and so can no longer serve as an assistant scoutmaster with Troop 2. Our special thanks go out to Ben, we would not be where we are now without you!

Benjamin Miller Eagle project

Scouts and Families,

I'm holding the first of two workdays for my Eagle Project this Saturday, Oct. 21, at my house (see below for directions).  We will be building a photography blind for the Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology; when finished, the blind will reside in the Sapsucker Woods Bird Sanctuary.  The blind will be constructed of wood, so come prepared to measure and cut boards, hammer nails, and drive screws, and don't forget to dress appropriately for the weather!  We're starting at 9:00 AM and finishing around 4:00 PM.  Pizza and drinks will be provided for lunch.  Extra hammers and drills are appreciated, but don't forget to mark tools as your own!  Please let me know if you are planning to attend and/or have questions.  My email address is
jbm1@twcny.rr.com and my phone number is 257-0470. Scouts working on advancement should be aware that time spent on any Eagle project counts for service time for advancement.

Thank you for your support,

Benjamin Miller

International Brotherhood Camporee

Several car loads traveled up to Wellesley Island in the 1000 Islands to represent Troop 2 at the World Brotherhood Camporee. Around 3000 attended the event with great campfires and good opportunities to talk to other scouts and swap badges. We have pictures on the troop photos page.
